World Tallest ‘Twin’ Buildings Located in Malaysia




Petronas Towers



The Petronas Towers are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur. The Petronas Towers were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and are still considered as the world’s tallest 'twin' buildings. These towers are one of the most admirable buildings in the world, Petronas Twin Towers sport unique and suave architecture. It cost US $1.2 billion to build Petronas Towers.

The towers were designed by Argentine - North American architect César Pelli. Pelli have chosen a distinctive postmodern style to generate a 21st-century icon for Malaysia. The construction of the framework started on 1 April 1994. The Towers was formally opened by the Prime Minister of Malaysia's Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad on 1 August 1999. The 88-floor towers are built largely of covered concrete, with a steel and glass facade planned to be similar to ideas found in Islamic art as reflection of Malaysia's Muslim religion. 







Penang Second Bridge is The Longest Bridge in Southeast Asia.

                The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge or Penang Second Bridge is a dual roadway toll bridge in Penang, Malaysia. It is the second bridge to connection the island to the mainland after the first Penang Bridge. The total distance of the bridge is 24 km with distance over water at 16.9 km, making it the longest bridge in Malaysia and the longest in Southeast Asia.



                   The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge is planned and designed basically based on the double "S" curvy outstanding idea to the geological reasons. Mainly the numerous "S" like curves along the 24 km give are an obligation under the Road Safety Audit. The idea was to help motorists to keep their full attention on the road while driving.





   Sarawak Chamber is the largest known cave chamber in the world





            Sarawak Chamber is formed in Melinau Limestone that located at Sarawak, a range compound of Upper Eocene to Lower Miocene age. Sarawak Chamber was formed by karstic solutional processes. Its excellent zone is thought to be the effect of the stability provided by the structure of the rocks in which it lies, dipping strata creating an anticline side close to a syncline axis. The external area of the Sarawak Chamber can be more precisely calculated and has been circulated at 162,700 square metres.

                Sarawak Chamber is located on the northern side of the Melinau Paku Valley near three and a half hours walking from Park HQ. For visitor trip, it is promising to visit Sarawak Chamber as an experienced visitor caver but these trips are hard to organize and are disposed to to cancellation due to flooding in the entrance passageway.
